Slatemont Capital Group, a small-business funding broker in Bismarck, North Dakota, answers the questions owners ask most: what a broker does, whether sole proprietors and businesses without an EIN can apply, how merchant cash advances differ from loans, and which requests we do not handle. Every yes or no comes from a lending partner, never from Slatemont.
About the broker role
Slatemont Capital Group is a broker, not a lender. We help you choose a structure and send the request to lending partners, who decide and set terms. The four steps lay it out.
Sole proprietors and EINs
Sole proprietors can request business funding, and many partners consider them. Partners generally want the business's own bank account and records kept separate from personal ones. Some partners accept a sole proprietor's Social Security number and others ask for an EIN; having one makes separating business records easier.
Merchant cash advances
A merchant cash advance is not a loan; it is a purchase of future receipts. The MCA page explains holdbacks, factors and stacking.
Local records and guides
North Dakota UCC searches, registration and annual reports, and Bismarck, ND zoning are covered in the guide library. The blog has longer posts on downtown premises, contractor equipment, practice financing and business plans.
Requests Slatemont turns away
Personal, payday, auto title and mortgage loans; SBA-backed loans; grants; and funding for agriculture or trucking businesses. Slatemont does not offer service in Spanish.
